Bose is a respected leader in sound technology. Even so, I was skeptical of the price ($299 retail) for a pair of headphones, but after trying them out, I could not resist. Whenever I let someone try these on, they are instantly “wow’ed” by the active noise canceling technology. Baby crying?! Loud plane engine? Chattering passengers in the seat behind you? No worries with these… just flip the noise canceling switch and sit back in near-silence. Ahhhh, so nice!
Amazon offers QC15 headphones:
- used for $99 – $190/pair
- refurbished for $170 – $250/pair, or
- new for $298/pair
You could also step up to the newer QC25 headphones:
- used for $225 – $270/pair
- refurbished for $231 – $280/pair
- new for $299/pair
I picked up my QC15 headphones used, and they work perfectly. If you took advantage of the Amex Platinum deal last month, you could grab a free $200 Amazon gift card via the MPX app, which could completely cover the cost of these headphones!
These require only a single triple A battery for up to 35 hours of use. You can use these simply to quiet down outside noises, or to listen to music with incredible sound quality. I have tried more “budget friendly” noise-canceling headphones before with no success. I give the Bose QuietComfort series two thumbs up!
