UPDATE #1: 12/31/16 – People are starting to get letters with the bonus language included! We applied for the card and the phone rep confirmed the bonus offer on our account.
A new Citi American Airlines application link appeared on Reddit yesterday. The application page lacks Citi’s standard 24-month language. If you have earned an American Airlines bonus through Citi in the past 24 months, you may be able to get around the bonus time frame restriction.
With the Citi AA Loophole mostly closed these days, this could be a great opportunity to snag another 50,000 bonus miles. This is no guarantee. When we applied for our 5th round of Citi AA Platinum cards, the representatives on the phone confirmed our bonus offer. However, after we hit the $3,000 spend, we did not get any bonus points. This could be a similar case. If you do decide to apply for this one, please report your data points in the comments. Cheers!
